Introduction

Smt. Urmila Mittal Memorial Trust was established by Mr. C D Mittal on dt. 7 th December 2011in the cherished memories of his Mother Smt. Urmila Mittal and also to celebrate his Mother’simmense sacrifices, love and compassion while promoting education to students from weakersection of society. Her motto was that lack of money should not be a handicap for the pursuit ofhigher education for the children who are genius & eager to pursue higher goals. The initiativewas taken with the objective to offer a scholarship programme to promote quality education foreconomically backward students and the primary purpose of the programme is to provide ampleopportunities for the development of brilliant students allowing them to avail quality education.

Aim

To encourage talented and brilliant girls to pursue higher goals in their life and vastly improvetheir living standard through the need based scholarship programme.

Guiding Principles

(a) Selecting through transparent process talented girls who genuinely are in need of financialassistance to pursue their studies and have potential for a successful career.

(b) Such girl’s student should belongs to economically backward classes to whom pursing thecareer will not be possible without financial assistance.

(c) The Scholarship Programme should become a source of inspiration and motivation forgenuinely needy girls.

“Chiragdeep”
Chiragdeep Scholarships are aimed to encourage Girls students of AMU, Aligarh who arepursuing listed Degree / Bachelor or Diploma / Vocational Course. The Scholarship willCommencing from F.Y. 2015-16.

Maximum number of Scholarships is for 100 Girl Students out of which

(a) 50 Students shall be pursuing Academic Studies, i.e. Degree (Bachelor) courses

(b) 50 shall be pursuing Vocational Studies, i.e. Diploma or Certificate courses The support provided under the Chiragdeep Scholarship Program shall be

(a) Rs. 2000/month for students pursuing Academic Studies, i.e. Degree (Bachelor) courses

(b) Rs. 2000/month for students pursuing Academic Studies, i.e. Degree (Bachelor) courses

(c) Scholarship shall be provided for entire duration of courseList of eligible Faculties for Academic Studies or Degree / Bachelor courses

• B.Voc. Degree in Fashion Design & Garment Technology

(a) A maximum number of 50 + 50 scholarships are planned and will be awarded to the brilliantgirls, belonging to the economically backward classes..

(b) The above initiative is planned to accommodate scholarship to 50 + 50 new Students everyyear for coming 4 years.

(c) Scholarship will be in the form of direct transfer of financial assistance to the student’s bankaccounts. This assistance would help students meet their basic monthly requirements ofcoaching, stationary, tuition fees and transportation.

(d) The scholarships will be accorded to the brilliant students, belonging to AMU, Aligarh only.

(e) Each scholarship awarded will be renewed every year. The renewal of Scholarship will bebased strictly on the parent’s continuing to meet the annual income criteria as well as theacademic accomplishment of the students.

(f) For availing the benefits of scholarship, the total annual income of the parents/guardians ofthe applicant should not exceed Rs 1, 80,000/- .

(g) SUMMT “the Trust” reserves their right to terminate the Scholarship at any stage if theinformation provided to it by the beneficiary found incorrect/misleading besides poor academicperformance and class attendance below 80%. The decision of the Trust to terminate thescholarship will be final.

(h) The decision/decisions of the Trust for Granting, Rejecting, Terminating, Revising the valueof Scholarship will be final and the Trust is not liable to give any notice of their decisions to anyone and the decisions of the Trust cannot be challenged in any court of Law

“Vidyadeep”
Vidyadeep Scholarships will be awarded to the girls students pursuing Higher SecondaryEducation (11th & 12th Class). The Scholarship has commenced from F.Y. 2012-13.

(a) A maximum number of 200 scholarships annually are planned and will be awarded to thebrilliant girls, belonging to the economically backward classes. The programme provides theopportunity to the students of 11th standard.

(b)For availing the benefits of scholarship, the total annual income of the parents/guardians ofthe applicant should not exceed Rs 1, 80,000/-.

(c) The Scholarships planned are for the duration of 2 years through direct transfer of financialassistance to the bank account of the students. This assistance will help students to meet theirbasic monthly requirements of coaching, stationary and transportation.

(d) These scholarships will be granted to the brilliant students, studying in Government andGovernment-aided schools.

(e) Each scholarship so awarded will be renewed every year. The renewal of Scholarship willstrictly be on the basis of parents meeting the annual income criteria as well as the studentscontinued / improved academic performance.

(f) SUMMT “the Trust” reserve their right to terminate the Scholarship at any stage if theinformation provided to by the beneficiary is found incorrect/misleading besides poor academicperformance and the class attendance below 80%. The decision of the Trust to terminate thisscholarship will be final.

(g) The decisions of SUMMT “the Trust” for Granting, Rejecting, Terminating, Revising thevalue of Scholarship will be final. The Trust is not liable to give any reason or notice on theirdecisions and the Trust cannot be challenged in any Court of Law.
